Site, Traffic & Hoarding Signs: questions answered
Which material should I choose for site signs?
Choose 3.5mm Correx for temporary signs on a live project, as it is light, waterproof and economical. Choose 3mm Dibond aluminium composite for car parks, yards and compounds where signs stay up for years. Foamex suits indoor notices and site cabins, and hoarding boards also come in 5mm and 10mm Foamex.
Do I legally need signs on a building site?
The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 require employers to provide safety signs where a risk cannot be avoided or controlled in other ways. Your risk assessment tells you which signs you need and where they go. The Health and Safety Executive publishes free guidance on safety signs.
Can you print a site sign with our own wording or logo?
Yes. Most signs in this range are ready-made designs, but if you need your own wording, your company name or a message we do not list, tell us the text and the size you need. Call 0161 315 1151 or use the contact form and we will quote it.
How are signs and banners fixed to site fencing?
Correx signs are usually fixed with cable ties through drilled holes, and Dibond signs can be drilled at the corners and screwed to a post or wall. Site safety banners come with eyelets, which suit cable ties on Heras panels and scaffolding. On exposed fences, mesh lets wind through and puts less strain on the fixings.
Is VAT added to site sign prices?
No. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added at checkout. The price shown on each product page is the final price of the sign itself, and our Manchester team checks every uploaded file before anything is printed.
