Site signs for building sites, compounds and car parks

A working site needs signs that do different jobs. Some keep the public out, some tell workers which PPE to wear, and others guide delivery drivers to the right gate. Correx, Foamex, Dibond and banner materials

The rigid signs in this range are printed full colour on three boards. 3.5mm Correx is light and waterproof, so it suits signs that go up for the length of a project and come down at handover. Foamex gives a smooth, flat print for site cabins and indoor notices, and comes in 3mm or 5mm on signs and up to 10mm on hoarding boards. 3mm Dibond aluminium composite has two aluminium skins and stays flat outdoors, which makes it the board for car parks and compounds that keep their signs for years.

For fence lines, site safety banners are printed on 440gsm PVC or 260gsm mesh with eyelets, and printed hoarding boards come as full 2440 x 1220 mm (8 x 4 ft) panels in Dibond or Foamex.

How to choose the right site sign

Start with how long it stays up

For a short project, Correx keeps costs down and copes with rain. For a permanent car park or yard, Dibond is the board that keeps its shape. Our Foamex, Dibond or Correx guide compares all three side by side.

Match the size to the reading distance

Most safety and traffic signs come in A3, A2 and A1. As a guide, an A3 sign reads at about 12 m, A2 at about 17 m and A1 at about 24 m. Drivers need the larger sizes; a sign on a cabin door can be smaller.

Check the sign type

Prohibition, mandatory, warning and safe condition signs each use their own colour and shape. Your risk assessment tells you which signs your site needs and where they go.

Artwork and custom wording

Most products here are ready-made designs, so you choose the size and material and there is no artwork to supply. If you need your own wording, your company name or a message we do not list, tell us the text and size and we will quote it. For hoarding boards you supply the design: set it to the finished size, add 3 mm bleed and keep text at least 10 mm inside the trim. The artwork guidelines cover file types and resolution.

Production times and delivery to site

Production is counted in working days from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Ready-made safety, traffic, parking and waste signs are dispatched within 5 working days, and site safety banners within 8. Printed hoarding boards take 6 working days as standard (express 5, saver 8), and Correx street signs take 10.

UK mainland delivery is £7.95 per order and free on orders of £99 and over (goods total after discounts). Oversize items (banners over 3 m on any side, boards larger than A0) add £15 per order. Hoarding panels travel on a pallet or in long boxes, so someone should be on site to sign for them. Mainland Scottish Highlands add £10 per order. The Scottish islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and the Isles of Scilly are quoted, so contact us before ordering. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to the price you see.
