Correx, Foamex or Dibond for a building site
Every design comes in three boards. 3.5mm Correx is fluted polypropylene: light, waterproof and easy to cable tie to Heras fencing, so it suits signs that move as the site changes. 3mm Foamex is a rigid PVC foam board with a smooth finish for site cabins, welfare units and indoor areas. 3mm Dibond aluminium composite stays flat outdoors and can be drilled and screwed to hoarding or posts on long projects.

Choosing construction site signs
Read the colour and shape
Yellow triangles warn of a hazard, red circles with a bar forbid an action, and blue circles tell people what they must do. Where a sign uses an ISO 7010 symbol, such as W008 for a drop or W015 for an overhead load, the code is shown on the product page so you can match it to your risk assessment. Messages with no matching symbol are made as clear text signs.
Size for the distance
An A3 landscape sign reads at about 12 m, A2 at about 17 m and A1 at about 24 m. Use A1 at site gates and on perimeter fencing, and A3 at doors, ladders and roof access points. In poor light, go a size up.

Artwork and wording
These are ready-made designs, so there is nothing to upload. Pick the message, size and board. If your site needs a message we do not list, or a sign with your company name, send us the wording and size and we will quote a custom version. Any artwork you supply for a rigid board needs 3 mm bleed, with text kept 10 mm inside the trim.

What do the colours on construction site signs mean?
Yellow triangles with a black border are warning signs for a hazard. Red circles with a diagonal bar are prohibition signs for something you must not do. Blue circles are mandatory signs for something you must do, such as wearing a helmet. Green signs show the way to safety or first aid.
What size construction site sign do I need?

Which signs does a construction site need?

What does the ISO 7010 code on a sign mean?
ISO 7010 is the international standard for safety sign symbols. The letter shows the type, such as W for warning, P for prohibition and M for mandatory, and the number identifies the symbol. W008, for example, is the drop or fall symbol used on our fragile roof and excavation signs.
