Planning a route with directional signs
Walk the route first
Walk from the gate to the site office as a visitor would, and note every point where they could take a wrong turn. Each of those points needs an arrow.
Size for pedestrians and drivers
A3 landscape reads at about 12 m and suits pedestrian routes and cabin doors. Drivers need more warning, so use A2 (about 17 m) or A1 (about 24 m) for construction traffic and turn left or right when leaving signs.
Order arrows by direction
Up, left and right versions are separate products. Count the junctions and order the direction each one needs.
Artwork tips for custom site directions
The listed signs need no artwork. For a custom sign naming a specific block, plot or gate, keep to a few words and one arrow, and use a bold, simple typeface. On rigid boards, add 3 mm bleed and keep text at least 10 mm from the trimmed edge. Send us the wording and we will quote it.
