School signs: correx, Foamex and Dibond

This range is made in outdoor-ready boards, printed full colour on one side. 3.5mm Correx is light, waterproof and economical, which suits temporary notices such as Field Under Repair. 5mm Foamex is a stiffer PVC foam board for sheltered walls and indoor use. 3mm Dibond aluminium composite stays flat and does not rot or rust, so it is the choice for permanent signs on fences and gates.

How to choose school and park signs

Size for open spaces

At A3 (297 x 420 mm) a sign can be read from about 12 m, enough for a gate or a court entrance. A2 (420 x 594 mm) reads at about 17 m. A1 (594 x 841 mm) reads at about 24 m, which suits a playing field boundary or a park entrance seen from a path.

Temporary or permanent

Symbols help young readers

Several signs use ISO 7010 symbols, such as P021 no dogs and P029 no photography, so children and visitors who do not read English can follow the rule.

Artwork tips
